"Our teachers foster in students a joy for learning and a sense of inquiry that is sustained throughout their years at Pine Point. And as students progress and choose to take more intellectual risks, teachers are with them every step of the way building from their strengths and supporting them as they grow."
– Head of School Diana Owen

Pine Point's fine arts program attends to the whole child's educational experience. Art, music and dance are integral to our academic program, and curricular units are often complemented by an artistic component from one or several of those disciplines.

Our campus is full of natural beauty – including fields, trails, and a pond – and is surrounded by over 200 acres of conservation land. As a private school, we consider nature another classroom and integral to our program, whether for art students sketching animals or for young scientists studying water samples.

As an Independent Day School, we recognize that Pine Point’s students thrive academically and socially when every person feels valued and included. Our core values of respect, integrity, moral courage, and excellence serve as a framework for our community commitment to advance the ideals of equity, inclusion, and social justice through character education.

In Pine Point’s early childhood program, children grow in a safe, nurturing environment that builds confidence and independence. From preschool through lower elementary school, our program facilitates individual learning with a particular emphasis on play. The curriculum cultivates critical thinking and a love of learning while instilling empathy, respect for self, respect for others and responsibility.

Young children learn best through play! Graland’s preschool and Pre-Kindergarten program is designed to help students settle into the school environment with joy, while intentionally integrating the development of foundational skills in math, literacy and social-emotional awareness. Teachers work to create and establish routines and reinforce positive interactions between students.

Elementary School is where curiosity, creativity, and confidence grow. Our program provides a strong foundation with a hands-on approach that brings learning to life. Students engage with teachers, collaborate in groups, and participate in integrated learning opportunities. The playfulness that starts in Kindergarten grows each year, staying joyful while experiencing new, more thorough understanding of the world around them.

Middle schoolers question, debate, explore, invent, and engage with more depth. Students are ready to take on more rigorous academic challenges and more responsible leadership roles. The Graland approach guides them to learn how to navigate and self-advocate as they experience individual growth and maturity. These are children who graduate from Graland ready and prepared for high school.

All images of students not in masks and not following social distancing guidelines pre-date our COVID-19 policies.

Students who go to Graland are the kind of forward thinkers who can go anywhere and do anything.

Since 1927 we’ve gone to great lengths to give every child the best education possible. Why? Because we want them to reach higher and go deeper. We want them to pursue excellence with passion and intent.
